Pete Hegseth, Fox News host and Tennessee resident, is set to serve as the keynote speaker at the Tennessee Firearms Association Legislative Action Committee’s (TFALAC) annual convention next Saturday at the Farm Bureau Expo Center at the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon.
In a promotional video highlighting his appearance at the upcoming event, Hegseth said his remarks at the convention will “of course” include discussion about Second Amendment issues in the state of Tennessee.
“In fact, as a new Tennessee resident myself, of course I’m concerned that Tennessee still does not have constitutional carry and it has so many laws restricting where we can carry a firearm to defend ourselves and our family. It’s a huge issue for me. It’s a great state, but we can do better,” Hegseth said in the video.
In addition to his television career, Hegseth is also a #1 New York Times bestselling author and an Army combat veteran.
Hegseth served as an Infantry Officer in the Army National Guard, serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Guantanamo Bay. He holds two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge for his time in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also held the position of CEO for Concerned Veterans for America—a nationwide veterans advocacy organization.
Other speakers scheduled to speak at TFALAC’s 2024 convention on September 7 include Tennessee U.S. Representatives Mark Green (R-TN-07) and John Rose (R-TN-06) and Erich Pratt, the Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America.
This year’s convention will feature vendors, a barbeque lunch catered by Whitt’s BBQ, a silent auction, and a live auction.
Anticipated items that will be auctioned off during the live auction include a four-day stay at a Florida vacation home, a Browning Select 49T Special Edition safe, and, so far, at least 23 firearms.
TFALAC is still searching for vendors who are interested in attending the event. Vendors that pay $550 are able to set up a single table to promote and sell their merchandise at the convention and receive two general admission tickets to the event.
General admission tickets for the convention are $100 per person.
